12TH ANNUAL NEW YEAR’S PRAISE PARTY CELEBRATION
On New Year’s night, January 1, 2019, phenomenal recording artists, musicians and dancers from all over the state, will unite on one stage, in a movement to “Raise the Bar Thru Praise” during the 12th Annual New Year’s Praise Party Celebration, a spiritual mix of gospel, Traditional and Contemporary Gospel, Rhythm & Praise, Gospel Rap, Dancers and Mime Artists. Some of the areas best artists and performers will stand together, hand in hand, in an effort to combat negative music and violence. It is for this reason that Greatness Beyond Measure is partnering with other community churches, such as, Trinity Christian Fellowship, Bethlehem Baptist and other ministries, to reach out to Bay Area youth and young adults during the New Year’s Praise Party, by providing a platform for artists and performers with positive messages.
This year’s 2019 NYPP artist line-up includes: the GBM Idols Ensemble (CJ Melton, Jordan Bolds, Jay Camero, Alauni Rene and Samuel Proctor), Omari Dillard, Natasha Milhouse, Maurice Allen, Edward Smith, Matthew McKinnon, Jorad Holmes, My Sister’s Keeper, Westcoast Liturgical Praise Dancers and NYPP Host, Dwight Henry. At a time when murder, drugs and violence is raging throughout our communities, it is absolutely imperative that those of us who are concerned about the welfare of our children, their children and generations to come, take a resolute stand and speak out against an epi demic which is rapidly annihilating our next generation of leaders, politicians, educators, scientist, techies and etc. I believe that negative music like Gangster RAP is rapidly demolishing our code of ethics and standards. Many young people no longer have a value system and consciousness of what is right and what is wrong, because it is what they are incessantly bombarded by during today’s negative RAP campaign (music videos, radio and social media). It’s all about selling sex and violence, regardless of who it effects, who it kills and infects, regardless of age, no matter how young or old, it’s all about making the dollar and selling negative music, according to Melanie Thomas, Greatness Beyond Measure, Inc. The NYPP mission is to create a conducive energetic environment that fosters positive messages that build character and self-pride. The Praise Party movement is not about a church, it’s about saving lives and helping to curve the violence that’s rapidly demolishing communities, all over the county, including our local community.
