Manatee County School Board Approves Candidates For Four Leadership Positions
Bradenton, FL – During a School Board meeting this morning, Board members approved the following leadership candidates put forward by Superintendent Dr. Jason Wysong.
“Each one of these individuals is an important contributor to the success of the school district and an accomplished leader,” Dr. Wysong said. “I am excited about the opportunities in front of them and I look forward to working with them closely as we all continue to move forward together.
Reginald Goff – Assistant Director of Construction Services A Construction Services Project Director for the Manatee district since 2015, Mr. Goff is now the Assistant Director of Construction Services. Engaged in construction for almost four decades, Mr. Goff has successfully completed capital projects for the school district in excess of $191.5 million. In addition, he has overseen preconstruction operations for capital projects for the district exceeding $171 million. Prior to joining the district, he spent 18 years with Turner Construction Company, the leading general builder in the United States. He also served as a Project Superintendent for D.R. Horton, America’s largest homebuilder.
Willie Clark
Willie Clark – Executive Director of School Support Services After serving as Executive Director of Secondary Schools since 2018, and a principal in the school district from 2007-2016, Mr. Clark is taking on another leadership role in the district. The position, previously held by Deputy Superintendent of Operations Joe Ranaldi, directs, and administers services and programs in the Operations area, including Food Services, Capital Projects/Construction Services, Maintenance and Operations and Transportation Services. Mr. Clark joined the Manatee District in 1999 and became an assistant principal at Palmetto High in 2002. After serving three years in Sarasota County, Mr. Clark returned to Manatee County as the principal at Sugg Middle from 2007-2009. He then served as principal at Palmetto High from 2009-2016, and as Director of Student Services for the district from 2016-2018. Mr. Clark will begin his new position effective Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Sharon Scarbrough
Sharon Scarbrough – Executive Director of Secondary Schools A principal in the Manatee district since 2009, and most recently the principal of Manatee High School since 2021, Ms. Scarbrough is the new Executive Director of Secondary Schools. She re p l a c e s Wi l l i e Clark, effective Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Ms. Scarbrough started her career in Manatee County schools as a social studies teacher at Southeast High School in 1996. She also spent four years teaching at Lakewood Ranch High before becoming an assistant principal at Haile Middle in 2004. She subsequently served as an AP at Buffalo Creek Middle before becoming principal at Sugg Middle in 2009. Additional principal posts followed at Haile (20142017), Braden River High (2017-2021) and Manatee High. Additional experience includes participation in the Florida Education Commissioner’s Lead-
