Harold Livingston Celebrates 93rd Birthday
Mr. Harold J. Livingston, Jr. celebrated his 93rd birthday with a celebration at IMG Academy in Bradenton on Saturday, May 20th. Over 75 family, friends and former colleagues were in attendance at the grand celebration.
Kyle Battie, Mayor of the City of Sarasota, presented Mr. Livingston with the Mayor’s Citation that read in part “in recognition and appreciation of your efforts and admirable achievements”. Mayor Battie also presented him with a Key to the City of Sarasota and, on behalf of Chief of Police, Rex Troche’, he presented the Chief’s Challenge Coin, a special coin that is a symbol of the Chief’s appreciation for greater service.
Special greetings were given by Donald Frost, retired Assistant Chief of Police at Florida A&M University, who Mr. Livingston mentored when he worked for the Florida Department of Transportation. Other representatives from DOT were in attendance and gave remarks. Mr. Livingston workeed for DOT which later merged with the Florida Highway Patrol, for 19 years until his retirement in 1998. He spent 29 years in law enforcement.
Livingston and his wife of 75 years, Julia, are parents of seven children, Audrey Fields, Patrick, Demestrics, Sr., Harold, III, Annette, Deborah and Bobby Livingston, Sr.
