Get To Know Dr. Vida Farhangi of SMH IM Practice at Newtown
Dr. Vida Farhangi, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine (IM) physician practicing in Sarasota with First Physicians Group, the multispecialty medical group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System. With more than 30 years of clinical experience, she provides comprehensive adult primary care rooted in prevention, chronic disease management, and whole-person wellness. Her approach to medicine is grounded in listening, education, and long-term relationships that support patients across every stage of adulthood.
For decades, Dr. Farhangi has cared for generations of individuals and families and is deep- ly trusted in the Newtown community for her compassion, accessibility, and steadfast commitment to equitable, respectful care. Patients know her as a physician who takes time, values personal histories, and treats every individual with dignity and respect. Her presence in the community reflects a belief that high-quality healthcare must also be culturally responsive and built on trust.

Dr. Farhangi earned her medical degree from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and completed her internal medicine residency at Kettering Medical Center. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition to her clinical practice, she serves as Medical Director of Sarasota Memorial’s Internal Medicine Practice at Newtown and as Medical Director of the Jean & Alfred Goldstein Health Center. In these leadership roles, she continues to strengthen
access to high-quality, patient-centered care and to advocate for the health and well-being of the Newtown communit.
