BPW North Sarasota H’ATTITUDE Luncheon Will Be Held on March 28th

Business and Professional Women of North Sarasota will celebrate their Nineteenth Annual H’attitude Scholarship Luncheon and Hat Show on Saturday, March 28th at Michael’s on East, 1212 East Avenue in Sarasota. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. The club will recognize their 2026 Women of the Year, Dr. LaShawn Frost, Kaveecia Moore, MBA and Betty Riddle.

Dr. Frost is the Executive Director of Student Services for Sarasota County Schools and former principal of Booker Middle School. She has been an experienced and skilled educator for over 15 years and was named Sarasota County 2019 Principal of the Year. She holds two bachelor’s degrees, a master’s degree in counseling, a master’s degree in educational leadership, and a Ph.D. in Counseling and Leadership. LaShawn is an alum of the “Art of Leadership” Institute at Harvard University, a once-in-alifetime opportunity for a select group of educational leaders across the country.

Moore is the Director of Homeowner Services for Manatee County Habitat for Humanity. As such, she develops and implements innovative programs that empower economically challenged families to achieve sustainable homeownership. Her work combines financial education, strategic program development, and hands-on support to create lasting generational impact. Moore has over a decade of experience in financial services as Financial Consultant and has trained and guided more than 600 families toward financial security while leading and mentoring a high-performing team of consultants.

Riddle works as a communications technician at the Public Defender’s Office of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit of Florida, where she has worked for the past 10 years. Her life, however, reflects resilience and transformation after a painful childhood led her on a journey where she faced homeliness and many challenges. She made a courageous decision to rebuild her life, believing dignity is worth fighting for and redemption belonged to those brave enough to claim. Riddle went on to earn an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies and now serves the same justice system that she once navigated from the other side.

There will be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and live auction at the luncheon, including the now-famous “parade of hats”. For reservations, call Jone Williams at 941-914-1155 or Cynthia Howard at 941-7244205. Deanna Manigo is BPW President.
