“Can We Talk” November 4th At Bethel CME
“Can We Talk”, a community conversation on trauma and healing, will be held at Bethel CME Church on Saturday, November 4th from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. The program is presented by Bethel and the Cory Johnson Program for Post Traumatic Healing.
If you are you experiencing trauma, stress or grief, or want tips on how to deal with trauma, you are invited to the conversation and to share your story. The event is free and welcome to the public.
The Can We Talk network, started by Rev. Liz Walker in 2014, is a nationwide collective of spiritually inspired, community based, clinically supported programs. These programs address the epidemic of post-traumatic stress to urban neighbors through the offering of safe and sacred spaces for the sharing of painful stories while increasing awareness and understanding of trauma, providing relief from traumatic stress and delivering mental health supports. Rev. Walker is a senior pastor at Roxbury Presbyterian Church in Boston and is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal tradition.
Bethel CME is located at 1719 22nd Street. For additional information, contact Rev. Anita D. Williams, pastor, at 727-678-1334.
