Caring 4 Carrie-Kidney Advocacy host ‘Toys 4 Tots’ Community Drive-Thru Event on Dec.12th
Dear Sir Or Madam:
Happy Holidays. My name is Sherri D. Thomas, I’m the founder of Caring 4 Carrie-Kidney Advocacy. My charity cause promotes Kidney Awareness Prevention within the Manatee County and the state. My purpose is from God. My passion was inspired by my daughter, Carrie. As an infant, she was affected by kidney disease; i.e, hydronephrosis, which caused swelling of the kidney. At four months old, she’ll have a Nephrectomy, the removal of one of her kidneys. Now as thriving teen, Carrie is a now a sophomore at Palmetto High School. She’s on the academic program, Cambridge AICE. Also, she’s on the PHS Varsity Girl’s Weightlifting Team (She medaled last year in County, District & Regionals) and a member of the PHS -JV Girl’s Volleyball Team.
History. Annually, we host the Carrie Kidney Awareness Bowling Event, which provides complimentary blood pressure checks from registered nurses before pre-bowling. Due to COVID Pandemic, the event will be cancelled in 2020.
(Kidney Fact: According to National Kidney Foundation, Hypertension is the leading causes of kidney disease.)
Giving Back. This year Caring 4 Carrie, will be hosting an upcoming ‘Toys 4 Tots’ Drive-Thru Event, on Saturday, December 12th, at 8am. The event location is at the -East Palmetto Woman’s Club, 1600 8th Street West, Palmetto. Florida. For safety, individuals stay in their cars and ‘drive thru’ with the unwrapped toy(s) and be greeted by and Elf Volunteer. Our goal, is to collect over 100+ unwrapped toys for deserving kids in Tampa Bay.
If anyone is interested in being an ‘Elf Captain’ or wanting to donate bulk unwrapped toys, we can pick up within Manatee county before the event.
