CHARLES HILL OPENS CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS CHAPEL

Minister Charles E. Hill has founded a ministry called Christian Believers Chapel and will host his first service on Sunday, December 4th at 1659 22nd Street in Sarasota.  The service will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Christian Believers Chapel is a vision of Min. Hill who has been in the ministry most of his life.  “I was led by the Lord in his spirit to start this ministry,” Min. Hill said.

“He gave me the steps to take and everything just fell into place,” he said.  “He put the right people in my path in order to start this great ministry and I am grateful.”

The mission of Christian Believers Chapel is to establish and maintain an assembly of Christian fellowship and worship; to bring into existence and nurture its members to doctrines as they are practiced in the faith.

Min. Hill received his calling into the ministry in 1977 and was licensed to preach on May 20, 1980 in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.  Over 15 years, he pastored several churches in the CME Church including Carter Temple, New Grace Chapel, Bryant Chapel, New Bethel and Williams Temple.

Born in New York City, Min. Hill relocated to Sarasota with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hill.  He graduated from Sarasota High School in 1968 where he was the first Black drum major in the school’s history.  He went on to receive a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music Education from Saint Augustine University in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Min. Hill worked for the Sarasota County School District for 42 years, retiring in September 2017.  Since November 1st of this year, he has been employed by the School Board as a substitute teacher.

“My main purpose in life is to lead those who are lost to Christ Jesus,” Min. Hill said.
