The Classic Returns And The Orange & Green May March Into The Post-Season

FAMU FINALLY BREAKS COOKMAN CURSE WITH POSSIBLE PLAYOFF BID

After the 1 year COVID hiatus, we were at Camping World Stadium and able to witness the return of the Florida Classic. Beyond the marching bands and festivities, there was the strong competitive nature and rivalry of Florida football again. And so, with a possible playoff bid at stake, maybe one team was able to extend it’s season. With Bethune Cookman scoring first, and a more evenly matched  first half, going back and forth in a very emotional, evenly played struggle. Coach Willie Simmons and the Florida A&M Rattlers had a second half defensive explosion which allowed them to finally pull away from the Bethune Cookman Wildcats.

Turnovers seems to be what made the difference. This was climaxed by a BJ Bohler strip, scoop and score which totally sucked all of the momentum from the Wildcats. With this victory, the Rattler are able to put an end  to a 9 game winning streak for the Wildcats. Also it appears that a door for the FCS playoffs may have been opened.  The floodgates have been opened at this year’s Classic with bonus gifts. So now the question is, has the first season for the Rattlers in the SWAC come to a conclusion?
