PEARLIE DAUGHTRY CELEBRATES 100TH BIRTHDAY

Mrs. Pearlie Johnson Daughtry celebrated her 100th birthday in grand style on Saturday, September 30th at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.  The theme was “100 and Blessed”.  Nearly 100 family and friends were in attendance to celebrate the centurion.

Mrs. Daughtry was born on September 29, 1923 in Letohatchee, Alabama.  She moved to Florida in 1984 where she worked in private homes.  She joined Mt. Moriah Christian Church where she worked diligently as choir president, attending choir unions and working with all auxiliaries of the church.  She later became a member of Community Bible Church where she established a weekly prayer hour called “Hour of Power”.  She is currently a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and is married to Joseph Daughtry.  She has two daughters, Willie Mae Phillips and Christine Johnson. At 100 years of age, Mrs. Daughtry can still cook a full meal, go grocery shopping and attend family functions.  She has always been a sharp dresser and still loves to dress up.  She still has a “pep in her step” and enjoys helping others.  Her faith and walk with God is greater than ever and her devotion to service and prayer for others is even greater.
