RECESS Education Expands Online High School Diploma Opportunities in Manatee County
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Rosalyn Walton Education and Enrichment Services Inc., known as RECESS Education, is continuing its work to expand educational opportunities in the Manatee County community, including an online program designed to help eligible participants age 16 and older complete their high school diploma.
Founded in 2016, RECESS Education supports the academic achievement of African American youth by providing equitable educational resources and opportunities.
The organization was founded by Dr. Sharon Jefferson, an educator whose community work has included literacy initiatives and Manatee County Juneteenth programming. RECESS Education has also developed Freedom Leadership Academy, which describes itself as a flexible, culturally relevant and nurturing educational option for families whose children may not have found success in a traditional classroom setting.
Flexible Online High School Diploma Program
