Alexis Love: Raising The B.A.R. Academy

“Regardless of how many gifts we possess, each of us has something to give back to the world”

Alexis L. Love is a mentor, published author, motivational speaker and hall of fame athlete.  She is a mother and full-time entrepreneur dedicated to “Raising the B.A.R.,” motivating and helping others achieve their goals, especially teenagers and young women. While these things are important, one of her greatest joys is to serve and volunteer her time in the community. She believes that in order to raise the B.A.R., we must raise the standard.

B.A.R. is an acronym for Believe – Achieve – Receive.  “My mission as a mentor is to impact millions,” Love said.

“My passion has always been to serve our youth and by doing so, I will know that I have fulfilled my purpose.”

Some studies show peer pressure and bullying can begin as early as nine years old, according to Love. “Raising the B.A.R. takes a preventative approach to such issues and focusses on preparation. It is designed to help children and teens by empowering, educating and equipping them with skills that work.”

In order to raise the B.A.R., Love believes we must set a higher standard. “Our mission is to take our mentees from ordinary to extraordinary.”  This is accomplished through the A. Love Academy, which is a 10-week program with a curriculum that focuses on overcoming real-life challenges and accomplishing set goals. “If we can intervene when children are most influenced, there is no limit to future success. Raising the B.A.R. includes raising the standard, raising awareness and achieving greatness with no limit.

“Regardless of how many gifts we possess, each of us has something to give back to the world,” she said.

Love is a native of Palmetto and is a graduate of Palmetto High School. She began her professional career at Murray State University where she now holds several records and is considered a premier alum. Alexis competed in both the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials. Now, being newly retired from the sport, she feels that she is being called to run a different race. Track and Field has allowed Alexis to see the world, grow her platform and spread her gospel of leading with love. She has nine years of experience as a motivational speaker and has worked as a Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigator, Juvenile Supervision Officer and Domestic Violence Shelter advocate. She is currently studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling with hopes of owning a private practice.
