Business and Professional Women of North Sarasota recently installed their officers for the 2020-2021 club year.  Officers are Deanna Manigo, president; Edwina “Wendy” White, first vice president; Norrece Wright, second vice president; Gwen P. Sermon, secretary and Dr. Tracy Goodman, treasurer.

Founded in 1919, Business and Professional Women is the oldest and largest organization of working women in this country.  BPW/North Sarasota was chartered in September 1972 by a group of women who wanted to help change the conditions of working women in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.  Anne Weatherington was the Charter President and for the past 48 years, BPW/North Sarasota has worked to provide members with professional development programs, networking, participation in grassroots activism and opportunities to support scholarships for disadvantaged women.

For additional information about the local organization, visit the website at www.bpwsarasota.org.  Meetings are typically held on the second Thursday of each month at the Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Library at 6:00 p.m.  Due to COVID-19, meetings are currently being held virtually.
