COMMUNITY OUTREACH! With Truvine…

It is back to school time and various churches and organizations have donated hundreds of backpacks and school supplies to the community as students begin the new school year. Here are a few:

Truvine Missionary Baptist Church:  By the time church members arrived shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29th, cars had begun to line up to pick up supplies.  Members distributed 154 backpacks to individuals in 40 cars using contactless distribution.  The church also held an evangelism ministry on August 8th, distributing 75 lunches in their “feed the hungry” mission.  Rev. Edward L. Quary, Jr. is pastor.

Bryant Chapel C.M.E. Church in Tallevast held their back to school supplies give-a-way on Saturday, August 8th.  Close to 40 bags for elementary, middle school and high school students were distributed.  Rev. Anthony G. Langhorne, Sr. is pastor.

The Missionary Society of Bethel C.M.E. Church recently became a community partner with Emma E. Booker Elementary School. As part of their mission outreach to increase awareness of their work, local missionaries participate in various activities monthly to support those in need. On August 27, some of the members of the society met with Emma E. Booker’s principal, Edwina Oliver and presented a check to the school to assist with student incentives. Mrs. Gloria Darville is local Missionary president and Rev. Dr. John W. Walker, Jr. is pastor.  Pictured left to right are Tonya Meralus, Shelia Atkins, Edwina Oliver, principal and Gwendolyn Sermon.
