(SARASOTA) – This weekend, you’re in for a real holiday treat, as some of the Bay area’s most amazing teens and young adults, from Sarasota, Bradenton, Tampa, Lakeland, St. Pete, Orlando and other surround cities will eagerly show off their phenomenal talents and skills, center stage. You’ll be wowed by incredible performers, step teams, dance crews, spoken – word artists and DJ Rome rock the stage during the 7th Stomp the Violence Step – Off & Gaming Competition, this Saturday, December 8, 2pm at Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, in Sarasota. First Place winner, takes home $500, a trophy and bragging rights. This year’s GBM STOMP Step-off Entertainment will be an absolutely head-spinning experience, loaded with tons of excitement, fun and empowerment, as young people, ages 12 – 19, from across the state will slay the stage with their best step and dance moves. The artists and performer line up is crazy and includes: Taken by Surprise, Sweetheart Nation, Derric Gobourn, Ashley Brisco, aka Briskyb, The Movers Dance Crew, Heard’em Say Poets, DJ Rome and Dr. Lisa Merritt, Executive Director of the Multicultural Heath Institute, Empowerment Speaker.

GBM will also be giving away 100 Christmas Food Boxes (ONE per family) and lots of Christmas treats, as door prizes during the Stomp event but you must be present. The purpose of Stomp the Violence is to collectively send a message to the youth, teens, young adults and the community at large that there are more appropriate ways to resolve conflict, however, violence is not the solution. Stomp the Violence is anticipated to be an outward display of unity and commitment to deterring participation in gang activity, teen suicide, gun violence, human trafficking and more. GBM aims to provide a nurturing environment that embraces those that are vulnerable to issues that are rapidly annihilating our future generations of leaders, doctors, tech genius, educators, business owners, attorney’s, creatives, scientist and more. Greatness Beyond Measure, along with several other community partners and law enforcement, are aiming to achieve this purpose, collaboratively through an outreach strategy that more specifically targets young people within our respective communities. The 2018 Stomp the Violence Step Off is the last of eight events produced by Greatness Beyond Measure, Inc., as they commemorated the 10th Anniversary of Greatness Beyond Measure, Inc. The organization was founded by Melanie Thomas in 2008.SS

The GBM experience provides an enriching environment and atmosphere that encourages academic enhancement, self – empowerment and entrepreneurial development for hundreds of teens and young adults each year. GBM continues to strive to create a platform for aspiring teen artist, musicians, poets, dancers, entreprenuers, inventors, gamers, debaters, sports lovers, techies and others to showcase their creative gifts and talents. Throughout the year, GBM provides an array of positive teen events in fostering and developing self – character and a Champion attitude, such as; the annual GBM three day Teen Summit, the GBM Idol Talent Showcase, GBM Shark Tank Pitch, Stomp the Violence Step – Off and Dance – Off, GBM E Power Clusters, the GBM Teen FunTech, the GBM Praise Jam, GBM Scholarships, the New Year’s Praise Party Celebration and the MLK Stomp the Violence Poetry Slam, as well as, Celebrity speakers/artists, networking with CEO, entrepreneurs, educators, Law officers, professionals and corporate heads, campus tours, spoken-word, cash prizes and more.
