Kenneth Matthews Named New Director At SCLO

Second Chance Last Opportunity (SCLO) recently held an open house and community partnership tour to introduce SCLO’s new Director, Kenneth Matthews. Dr. April Glasco, CEO and founder of SCLO, said she was excited about this new chapter venture with Matthews taking over at the helm of the organization.
“I am excited to introduce Kenneth as we begin this exciting new chapter for SCLO and as we explore our organization’s future,” she said. “Together, I believe we can make an even greater impact in our community.”
“It is my privilege to serve as Director of Second Chance Last Opportunity, under the leadership of our dynamic CEO, Dr. April Glasco,” Matthews said. “I plan to continue the mission established 37 years ago – a mission built on hope, passion, dignity and the belief that everyone deserved a second chance.” Matthews went on to share his assessment and vision for SCLO. “I see families facing challenges, many of which they cannot overcome on their own,” he said. “I also see parents struggling to put food on their tables, a roof over their heads and provide for their children. The truth is the rebuilding of these people’s lives needs to begin right now, and that’s what we do at Second Chance,” he said. “My vision is clear: to rebuild lives, restore hope and strengthen our communities one person, one family and one opportunity at a time.”
More than 30 representatives from businesses, nonprofit organizations, churches, financial institutions, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and community agencies attended the open house and had an opportunity to learn about SCLO’s programs and services and explore partnership opportunities with SCLO and other organizations.
