Lincoln Memorial High School Class of 1967 to celebrate 55th Reunion

The Class of 1967 of Lincoln Memorial High School will gather for the celebration of its 55th Reunion on December 3 – 4, 2022.  The reunion theme is “Here and Now” and will kick-off with a casual-themed commemorative program and dinner.  The dinner will be held at the Terra Ceia Bay Club, 2802 Terra Ceia Bay Boulevard in Palmetto on Saturday, December 3, 2022, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The program will include memories shared by classmates Raymond Bellamy and Betty Rhodes of Palmetto and Rosalyn Zanders who now resides in Jacksonville, FL.  Classmates who are veterans will also be recognized and a memorial tribute will be held to honor deceased classmates.  A special awards ceremony will be included.  The celebration will continue with classmates attending worship service together at Rogers Community United Methodist Church, Bradenton on Sunday, December 4, 2022.

Through the encouragement of one of the classmates, The Class of 1967 initiated and carried out a service project in partnership with Rogers Community United Methodist Church to distribute free turkeys in the East Bradenton community on November 19, 2022.  Approximately 110 families received the turkeys for their Thanksgiving holiday.

The Planning committee consists of classmates JoAnn Thomas Surrency, Lynette Hayes Edwards, Betty Lou Sailes Rhodes, Richardean Fields Bruce, Gail Wright Thomas, Jerry Nelson, Alex Bullock, Madeline Pearson, JoAnn Washington Spencer, Valerie Adams Bowden, and Edrena Love Freeman.  The group has been making plans for the celebration since early August.

Classmates, both locally and from afar, are expected to be in attendance, as well as former teachers and class sponsors.  The Class of 1967 was one of the last graduating classes of Lincoln Memorial High School which included 130 graduates.
