Local Student Athletes Sign College Scholarship
Booker High School football’s National Day of Signing was held last week with seven students signing letters of intent. Going on to the next level are Torry Hollomon, St. Thomas University, Kayden Hunt, Bethel University, Silas Jones, Cumberlands University, LaDerian Smith, Thomas University, Michael Turner, Albion University, Jaleel Williams, Thomas University and Jacobey Mobley, Thomas University.
Several other high school student-athletes in Sarasota and Manatee Counties made their decisions for where they will continue their journeys as athletes on the collegiate level.
Following is a list of other schools, the student-athletes making their collegiate decisions, and the colleges/ universities that those student-athletes will attend after graduating from high school.

Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School: John Badala, Baseball, University of Pittsburgh; Rymen Mosley, Football, Rice University; Zack Samuel, Football, University of Toledo; Wyatt Hossenlopp, Baseball, Davidson College; Jake Armstrong, Baseball, State College of Florida; Rylan Miller, Lacrosse, Savannah College of Art and Design; Mateu Dalmau, Baseball, U.S. Naval Academy; and Bo O’Daniel, Football, Wagner University.
Riverview High School: Taylor Wagner, Swimming, St. Thomas University; Caiden Cabral, Baseball, USC Sumter; Stephen Commander, Baseball, Florida National University; JR Hudson, Baseball, Catawba Valley C.C.; Brody Carol, Football, Doane University; Luke Chappell, Football, St. Thomas University; Andon Clough, Football, St. Thomas University; Kyvon Love, Football, Webber International University; Parker Nippert, Football, St. Thomas University; Anthony Miller, Football and Track & Field, Davidson University.
Booker High School girls basketball team won the 4A District 11 Championship last week with a 64-35 win over Boca Ciega. Coach Ty Bryant reached his 5th straight district championship with the win and reached over 100 wins in six years as the Tornadoes’ head coach. The Lady Tornadoes move on to Regionals where they will be the #1 seed, looking for their 4th trip to State competition.
