Truvine Celebrates Church Anniversary with Parking Lot Service

(Picture)

What a celebration it was when Truvine Missionary Baptist Church observed its 102nd church anniversary with a worship service in the church’s parking lot, thinking “outside the box” in order to commemorate the founding of the church.  Following CDC guidelines, worshippers remained in their vehicles as Reverend Dr. Edward L. Quary Jr., Pastor-Teacher of Truvine, preached under the covering of the sanctuary’s drop-off-pick-up zone. “Amens” resounded during the service with the blowing of car horns from the capacity-filled parking lot area.  Pictured left to right are Deacons John Alford and Johnny Bell, Sister Rahsheia Quary, Rev. Dr. Edward L. Quary, Jr., Pastor, and Deacons Charlie Rivers and Fosie Weston, with parked cars in the background.
