Truvine Receives 2020 Church of the Year Award

At the National Revitalize 2020 virtual conference, Truvine Missionary Baptist Church was recognized with the 2020 Neighborhood Church of the Year” award.  Truvine was one of six churches to receive the honor, spanning geographically from California to Massachusetts.

Rev. Edward L. “Chris” Quary, Truvine’s pastor, said it was an unexpected honor receiving the award.

It is amazing for God to reward you for something He has done,”

he said.  “God has kept us, shepherded us, and blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. God is gracious and deserves the glory for everything good in our lives. I firmly believe that ministry is not achieved but received. I pray that God will continue to work mightily within His church according to His word for His glory and our good.”

Revitalize Network exists to empower churches to greater health.  Each member church becomes a part of the mission toward church revitalization across North America and the world.

“We praise our risen savior Jesus Christ for his faithfulness to his church,” Pastor Quary said.  “Our Lord is awesome and continues to display his inexhaustible love toward the saints at Truvine.  The Spirit of Christ has birthed ministries that both exalt Christ and evangelize the community, whether it’s community prayer walks, the weekly feeding of youth in the community, cyber evangelism through social media, seniors edifying seniors in the nursing home, or opening up the doors of the church to help the community grieve senseless acts of gun violence, God has been faithful!”

“As I honor our Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ, I also want to honor the members of Truvine for your prayerful diligence and unwavering desire to share the love of our savior Jesus Christ.

Let’s continue to celebrate and commemorate the gracious work of Jesus Christ as we entrust the future to his loving hands. May the refrain of our heart’s melody continually be “To God be the glory for the great things he has done!”  Truvine celebrated their 100th year in 2018.  Rev. Quary has served as pastor since 2016.
