GBM Celebration of Greatness 26’
“Lights, Camera, and Shine” is the theme of this year’s GBM Celebration of Greatness 26’ weekend, July 25 – 26, which brings together teens, young adults, families and friends from Miami to California. Saturday night kicks off with GBM Celebration of Greatness, an electrifying evening of Illumination, Inspiration, Creativity, Entertainment and Empowerment which recognizes the excellence in amazing teens and young adults who exemplified brilliance in Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Community Service, Academia, Technology, Art and Design, and Sports, as well as those who have demonstrated the mission of Greatness Beyond Measure, “Empowerment for Life, Believe It, Achieve It, Ignite the Genius.”
During the Celebration, Greatness Beyond Measure, our community partners, sponsors, family and friends will “Salute the Greatness,” in five incredible 2026 GBM High School Scholarship recipients: Dante’ Chandler (Booker High), J’Vonte’ Chandler (Booker High), Joycelyn Florida (Parrish High), Sebastian Lissage (Lakewood Ranch High) and JC McIntyre (Manatee School of the Arts). GBM will also spotlight three incredible 2026 GBM alums who have successfully completed their undergraduate studies in college, Elijah Roberson (Florida Atlantic University) and will continue pursuing a Law Degree at the University of Miami (GBM 26’ scholarship recipient), Mya Saffo (Valdosta University), and Sadie Smith (Ringling College).
Throughout the evening, Celebration attendees will be entertained by stellar and soulful R & B performances by Frankie Brown, Charlie “CJ” Melton, Derric Gobourne, Amillia Samuels, Jay Camaro, Randi J., Elijah Roberson, and JC McIntyre. Celebration will be hosted by Tampa Bay’s award – winning Poetry Slam phenom, Wally B, who is sure to keep the audience lit throughout the all white & tan attire affair. Also, Angels Food with Soul will serve a delectable and scrumptious catered soul food mix. On Sunday, July 26, the following day, GBM will partner with Barbershop Men of Prayer for our Annual Back-ToSchool Backpack Giveaway at Ringling College of Art and Design Goldstein Library located at 1228 Dr. MLK Way in Sarasota. Families will be blessed with over 500 backpacks, school supplies, free haircuts by local Barbers, video games and tournaments by M-TRON, free pizza, popcorn, cotton candy and snacks, water slides, bounce houses, water blasters, and free Little Genny’s Italian Ice cups (200)
