Brother2Brother Hosts Men’s Breakfast

            Brother2Brother Alliance LLC hosted their fifth annual Men’s Breakfast on June 3rd.  The theme was “Accountability and Responsibility” for the community service group whose purpose is to empower and connect fathers with children in their communities.

            Approximately 71 guests were in attendance at the breakfast.  “The goal of Brother2Brother is to unite men and families from Manatee and Sarasota Counties around our theme of Accountability and Responsibility,” said Omar Edwards, founder and president.  “This was another successful event and something we look forward to every year.  I would like to personally thank the officers and members of the Brother2Brother Alliance LLC for their efforts.  We look forward to our next event in June 2024.”

            Pastor Lawrence Livingston served as master of ceremony at the breakfast.  Willie Kendricks rendered the prayer followed by the occasion by Edwards.  A musical selection was given by Lynette White.  Keynote speakers were Ernie DuBose, II, introduced by Shavon Reed Agard, and Sherod Halliburton, introduced by Keenan Wooten.  The Fatherhood Pledge was given by Lt. John Murrell and closing ceremony remarks were given by James Haynes.

            Brother2Brother Alliance is inspired to empower others, ignite hope and hold men accountable toward family, community and self-sufficiency.  They offer workshops to educate participants to become leaderes and succeed in today’s workplace and thrive among social standards and diversity.  The annual breakfast is designed to provide education, guest speakers and resources that will impact the community in a positive way.
