TODD CHANDLER TO RECEIVE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

Clyde “Todd” Chandler, III will be honored by the Second Regional District of the Florida Morticians Association, Inc. with the Distinguished Service Award. Chandler will be honored at the 96th Annual Convention of the Florida Morticians Association, Inc., along with Benjamin F. Lawson, Lawson Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, David Lee Northern, Jr., Ray Williams Funeral Home in Tampa and Robert C. Young, SmithYoung Funeral Home in Clearwater, for their distinguished service in the funeral service business. The event will be held on Sunday, October 20, 6:30 p.m., at Banquet Masters, 13355 49th Street North in Clearwater. Chandler is a native of Sarasota having graduated from Booker High School. He pursued his higher education at St. Petersburg College in Pinellas County. He is the son of the late Clyde Chandler and Gloria Chandler, who are the founders of Chandler’s Funeral Home in Sarasota. The funeral home started in 1995 and at the death of his father, Todd continued to carry the family’s legacy. He had been exposed to the experiences and services of the funeral business his entire life and continues his public service as manager of the family business. His passion is serving the community with excellence and dignity that will bring marvelous, lifetime memories for many years to come. The mission of the Florida Morticians is to promote the best interest of its members, secure such laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the practice of embalming and funeral directing, to maintain a membership of licensed funeral directors and embalmers, hold conventions and provide workshops and seminars of continuing education and disseminate information of concern to its members; to promote ethical practice; to promote public awareness and maintain high standards of service.
