The Catfish Louisianne is 2 fried catfish filets over rice topped with Crawfish Etouffee.

Palmetto is now home to “LOUISIANA IN A BOX”, located at 704 10th Street, the newest flavor and delightful place to eat and experience the authentic and true flavor of Louisiana food and cuisine.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Jermaine Davis, restauranteur and Tyrus Thomas, former NBA star, both true Louisiana natives and family. The idea for opening “LOUISIANAINABOX” was a concept Jermaine Davis came up with explaining the “BOX” is the four walls of the restaurant where people come in and can sit back and relax and enjoy eating great food in a pleasant atmosphere. Davis said his cousin, Tyrus Thomas had visited Manatee County many times while training at IMG and felt that Palmetto was the place to open the restaurant. Thomas and Davis searched from Nokomis to Tampa and it was clear, Palmetto and the people of Palmetto felt like home and that’s where they would bring true and traditional Louisiana cuisine as described in their menu, Gumbo, Etoufee, Jambalaya along with fried pickles, Cajun hush puppies, fried Boudin balls, a traditional dish made of fried pork rice dressing cooked to a golden brown crisp. There are Po’ Boys of your choice of Shrimp, Crawfish, along with oysters, and Catfish, even hamburgers and cheeseburgers and fries, ribeye and steamed vegetables to satisfy every craving and appetite. Dessert is on the menu with mouthwatering Bayou Bread Pudding, white, chocolate and blueberry and Bayou Bites which are fried bread pudding bites. Davis said every tasty dish on the menu is always fresh and nothing is ever frozen,

“You can taste the difference. The food is not overly spicy, but it’s always delicious. You get a piece of love every time you come in here whether you’ve been here before or not. We take good customer service seriously. We want everyone to feel like family.”

Davis said three of his staff followed him from Louisiana to Palmetto to cook and make Palmetto their home. There is a full beer menu along with amazing cuisine, something for the whole family to enjoy and experience. Davis said,

“I couldn’t imagine being in any place nicer than Palmetto and the people we have met here. They have been so warm and welcoming to us. I love it here and it’s a huge blessing to be a part of this city.”

Davis said the catering part of the restaurant will be starting soon as well. “LOUISIANA IN A BOX” is open seven days a week, 11am -10pm with dine in and take out available.

From the moment you enter the door you’ll experience friendly staff and the phenomenal flavors of the only place where love, fresh and great authentic, mouthwatering Louisiana cuisine is ready for you to indulge in. Treat the whole family and come on in. And as Davis and Thomas say, “Laissez les bons temps rouler, which means, “Let the Good Times Roll.” Roll on in and try it, you’ll be glad you did.
